Last week Natalia asked us to decide on a theme for this weeks class, it could be anything, we just had to bring in photos of that thing for a collage. When we got to class this week she told us we were making Canapes using the ingredients of whatever theme we had chosen. Some people chose fungi, sea creatures and people. My theme was Wood. We had to create one meat, vegetable, seafood and dessert canape. I had lots of photos of wood grain so I cut that up and abstracted the shapes quite a lot to make my collages.
Then came the fun part, cooking! We made 6 little edible looking models. I brought lots of sticks and pine cones, some string and cardboard so I had a lot to work with.
I love this class! I could sit and make small objects all day long!
Next class we have to bring in multiples of one thing, like straws, matches or toothpicks, as long as it comes in multiples and can be manipulated. Oh the possibilities!
